Spin by Catherine McKenzie

Spin is an upcoming chick-lit novel by Catherine McKenzie that will be available for purchase on February 7th.

The novel follows a woman, Kate Sandford who finally lands an interview for her dream job writing for a hot music magazine. The only problem is the interview is on her 30th birthday and she shows up to the interview still drunk from partying the night before and blows her chance.

Just as she has decided to move on and get a regular job the magazine calls her with a special assignment. They want her to follow a drug addict young actress, Amber Sheppard into rehab undercover to get as much dirt on her as she can and if she finishes rehab she can get her dream job.

Kate takes the assignment without thinking twice, but as she does her 30 day rehab stint she learns things about Amber and herself that makes her question if she is actually doing the right thing.

I was pleasantly surprised by this novel, the author has a unique writing style that was easy to read and actually quite funny. I really enjoyed how the actress was presumed quite crazy and out of control at first but as the novel goes on you see that she is actually a woman that has been hurt way too many times.

I don't do this often, but I am giving this novel 5/5 stars and would highly recommend to anyone...
