Me and My Ghoulfriends by Rose Pressey is the first of a new series about Larue Donovan, a woman who owns a bookstore in a small town that happens to also see ghosts.
Larue has a way of attracting the ghosts to her and she often has a handful of them following her around. The current gang includes a nagging woman who will not stop using her awful singing voice to try and get her way, and Abraham Lincoln, the charming ex president who is full of advice.
When a handsome stranger moves to town and opens up a coffee shop right next to Larue's shop, she isn't surprised when Brianna, the creepy boutique owner across the street from Larue's store, sets her sights on him. But she is surprised with Callahan, the hot coffee shop owner, shows interest in her instead.
Until one day when he starts to act like he doesn't even know who she is, and he and Brianna are suddenly an item. Now Larue has to try to figure out what is happening to a zombie like Callahan and help her Ghoulfriends find the light.
This book was very unique, and not what I expected at all, in a very good way. Larue was snarky and strong, like all of Rose Pressey's Heroines. There were enough twists and turns that kept the pages turning, but not too many to make it confusing. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and like the twist of a woman who can see ghosts, even if some of them are annoying.
I give this book 4 out of 5 stars and highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a fun paranormal read. For more information on Me and My Ghoulfriends click the link below or visit http://rosepressey.com/.
